The ecoENERGY for Aboriginal and Northern Communities Program (EANCP) is a federally funded program focused on promoting clean energy projects in Aboriginal and Northern Communities. Applications will be accepted May 1, 2013 to June 7, 2013. Up to $250,000 is available in funding for technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions by displacing fossil fuels, such as diesel and gas, with clean, renewable technologies that harness the energy the earth has to offer. These technologies include solar hot water, solar photovoltaic (electric), wind electric, geoexchange and hydroelectric.

Through the partnership of Terratek Energy and Stage 3 Renewables, we will provide an informational meeting with a site assessment to identify the technologies best suited for your community to leverage the available funds. We will walk you through the application process and help you take the project from concept, through funding proposal and detailed design to installation and commissioning.

Solar hot water and solar photovoltaics offset energy use by heating hot water and producing electricity from the sun. Even on cloudy days solar systems can help to reduce energy consumption.

Geoexchange uses the earth’s renewable energy, just below the surface, to heat or cool a building, and to help provide hot water. These types of systems can greatly increase efficiency and reliability.

Wind turbines generate electricity from the wind and can offset significant fossil fuel use.

Hydroelectric systems generate electric energy from falling water. These systems are site specific and often seasonal, but a great source of renewable energy.
