We've been tracking the energy savings being accumulated on a monthly basis by 18 of our featured customers. These include the Victoria General Hospital, the Langley Fine Arts School, Delta Secondary School and Colwood Fire Hall. The tracking is being measured by SunReports monitors that we are installing at each system. Through these individual monitors we are able to capture and accumulate the total energy savings from each of the monitored systems. The picture below shows the savings in terms of KWhs, coal, car emissions and more!

So what does it all mean?

To compare here are some stats on the average consumptions listed above:

– An average, two-story, three bedroom house uses 1500 kWhs a month, meaning we've saved enough energy to date to power a house for almost 9 years!

-1 kg of coal generates about 2.75 kWh of electricity, which means we've generated approximately 68,000 kWh of coal free electricity!

– An average car emits around 340 kg of CO2 a month, which means the GHG emissions from the installations we've done is enough to take seven cars off the road for one year!

Stay tuned for next month's totals, and join us on Facebook and Twitter for more energy savings updates and news about our upcoming work.
