Schools in BC are invited to apply for funding for the installation of Photovoltaic (PV) systems on school buildings under the Solar Schools project of the SolarBC program. Funding for this project has been provided by the Province of British Columbia through SolarBC. Funding will be for 90% of the project to a maximum of $20,000 per school for ten schools across the province. The installation of PV systems on schools demonstrates leadership in reducing hydro-electricity and energy costs. It also encourages students and their families to investigate renewable energy solutions in their homes.

"These SolarBC demonstration projects are a great way to educate youth about the various renewable energy systems available in our province," said John Yap, Minister of State for Climate Action. "Renewable energy is a big part of the solution in our efforts to tackle climate change."
