The Earth Hour City Challenge initiative has been created to celebrate cities that are taking amazing steps towards a 100% renewable future. The jury has selected 17 cities and municipalities that have shown an extraordinary will to support this transition. Amongst the competition are the City of Vancouver, the City of Surrey and the City of Colwood. Cast your vote for the city that will receive this year’s People’s Choice Award. You can also show your city’s green side from a special initiative that inspires you, like the green roof on a neighboring building, the bike path you take to work or just an amazing sunset that shows your city in its full glory. You can further take part by submitting your pictures with your city's hashtag on Instagram. Hashtags can be found on the City Challenge website.

Terratek has worked with the three Canadian cities currently vying for top spot. We've installed solar hot water, PV and an EV charging station for Colwood residents, as well as the solar hot water and solar PV system for the community Fire Hall. We are also working with a school in Surrey on a solar project, and have installed solar on a number of Vancouver schools including Vancouver Tech, Sir Charles Tupper and David Thompson Secondary, along with the solar PV canopies at Vancouver's VanDusen Gardens.
