In BC you pay a higher price depending on your consumption. Therefore once you have consumed a certain amount (currently 1350kW), your cost per unit of electricity increases by roughly 50 percent. A Solar System can offset higher tiered energy for homes that use a higher amount, meaning it’s possible to offset all of your power in the summer and a sizeable portion in the winter.
Environmental Contribution
Solar panels represent an actionable way to reduce your environmental footprint. By going solar, not only will you help make a positive environmental impact but you are showing leadership and helping to avoid large-scale generation projects.
Lock in Low Energy Prices
With electricity prices continuing to increase, the upfront cost you pay for your solar system will provide you with free power for 25-30 years or longer.
Return on Investment
Solar panels today have a warranty of between 25 and 30 years. A typical pay-back period is approximately 12 years, meaning you can have 13-18 years (and longer) of free power. Compared to other investment options this is a valuable return on your investment.
Energy Independence
Not only do our customers love being able to generate power on their own rooftops, but a home solar power system can give you security from power outages and greater independence from the energy utility.
Net Metering
BC has net metering, which allows homes with solar power to plug into the grid easily. Net metering means you receive credit for the power you generate, decreasing your electricity bill. If solar is not providing all of the energy, the grid will supply rest.
